HISTORY

DESCRIPTION

Itarian scribes put the formation of Catovaz at around 220,000 BTLS(Before The Long Sleep). The ice planet got its name after the Itarians invaded and took over the planet in the 7th cycle.

Completely covered in snow and ice, Catovaz was in the Mehdias system and the furthest planet away from Mehdias JX7, the planet's sun. Its landscapes were that of polar ice caps that ranged for miles. Despite its cold, wet, and slippery terrain, Catovaz was home to about 29 million inhabitants who adapted to the treacherous conditions on the planet.

SPEAR ENERGY

Between 65,000-63,000 BTLS the early inhabitants of Catovaz began to show their connection to Spear Energy. From this connection came the ability to manipulate ice.

The conditions on Catovaz were so harsh that the early inhabitants were initially using their connection to Spear Energy just to survive. Eventually, they realized that they could harness this power to manipulate the environment around them.

These inhabitants who were able to use their connection to Spear Energy to manipulate ice became known as Ice Warriors. The scribes of Noplia had a hard time pinpointing when exactly these warriors were given their names due to most of Catovaz's early records being destroyed in 2nd cycle.

KILLING OF THE BABES

The start of the 2nd cycle was a time of great peril for the early inhabitants of Catovaz. The ice caps on Catovaz had grown and consumed much of the civilization the inhabitants had begun to build. Advancements across the planet were lost. Ice Warriors attempted to curve the conditions, but the planet was just too strong for them.

By 100,010 DTLS C2 (During The Long Sleep, Cycle 2) parents on Catovaz began to kill their babies and young children due to the harsh conditions. Itarian scribes were able to decipher this dark era in Catovaz history from cave wall paintings scattered across the planet. The leading theory in Noplia was that the parents did this so that their babies wouldn't suffer and freeze. Other scribes believe that it was decreed by Catovazan leaders to kill the babies so there wouldn't be more mouths to feed.

ITARIAN INVASION

The Itarian invasion of Catovaz established the city of New Var. In the 7th cycle, Emperor Torvazin XXX and his armies landed on the ice world and quickly took it over. The harsh conditions on Catovaz were new to the Itarians. They quickly adapted to the environment with their technological advancements and began to round up Ice Warriors to partake in the universal games set up by Emperor Rozenvar XVII in the 6th cycle.

Ice Warriors of Catovaz were forced to fight in the Vaaz-Ho-Dai, gladiatorial games created by the Itarians in the 6th cycle. These games made beings from different worlds fight each other for entertainment on Itarus.

END OF THE LONG SLEEP

As The All Father awoke from The Long Sleep and the universal announcement of his return, Catovaz was quickly added to The All Father's planetary kingdom. The Ice Warriors of Catovaz went into hiding out of fear they would either be killed, enlisted in the Black Palace military, or used as tools for entertainment again.

It wasn't until Corrin's division with The All Father that Catovaz decided to finally take control of their own planet. The Ice Warriors of Catovaz were recruited by Morgana to join The Allegiance, where they fought alongside the Fire Warriors of Scav to free the universe.
