Phantom Horizon: The Uncovered Star-logs of Treph'os V - Star-log #7

With the most recent revelations about the missing Treph'os V, one thing has become clear: the Treph'os V was under attack. However, many unknowns are circulating through the investigation. As more details become revealed, more questions start to arise. Who are the attackers? How did they get on the ship? What are they after? Yet the biggest question has yet to be answered, where is the Treph'os V? Black Palace search parties elevated their operations, now using full military force to scan across the stars. It is believed that, with this level of involvement, something must be discovered sooner or later.

As more clues are being discovered, it would be wise to recap the evidence that has been found through the star-logs. As the logs are reviewed, they hopefully can help to piece together a bigger picture. The first star-log featured a deckhand named Pinxo. Pinxo stated that the security aborad the Treph'os V was more equipped than usual for a trading vessel. In another log, one of the maintenance workers mentioned that the cargo they're loading is very 'special'. Then a bombshell discovery in a following star-log showed a person of interest going by 'Signode'. The reveal of this person also showed that secret lines of communication were being sent through the star-logs. In later star -logs we then see that inventory may have been changed or altered. Unfortunately with the latest logs, it is now confirmed that members aboard the ship were attacked and killed.

For a more thorough review. All previous star-logs can be accessed here.

Some pieces may start to fit together with what is known so far. The attacks and killings aboard the Treph'os V could be related to the cargo the ship was carrying. However, the evidence on file conflicts with this theory. The trading vessel's cargo log contained many essential goods and equipment, but nothing that could be deemed valuable enough to kill for. There were also cargo checks in each orbit port to counteract smuggling. Could some space pirates have attacked and robbed the ship? That idea could be plausible, yet again there's evidence against it. No distress signal was ever made and there's no record of any breach. Additionally, the individuals involved in the crew attack had distinctly different looks and wore outfits that were unlike anything typical space bandits had ever worn.

Black Palace authorities have been using all their intelligence resources to identify the attackers. Full military fleets are scanning the systems ready to react with force if necessary. As the efforts continue, the researchers in Myero have made a discovery.

A star-log was retrieved, but this one had a different signature. Based on the data, it looks as if a log was uploaded to the main log database instead of being recorded directly onto it. What could this mean?

STAR-LOG 7: SHIPMENT DAY UNKNOWN

Star-log video description

(A static video feed is processed. Eventually, it makes out a person, who seems to be holding a recording device. The person is panting and has a bit of blood on their chin. It is a man, who looks desperate and scattered.)

Man on video: Not sure if anyone will receive this. But this is the only thing I can do. My name is Dalek, crewmember on the Treph'os. I don't know how this happened, some people aren't who they say they are. They just started shooting like crazy. Now there's a full-on attack on the ship, hopefully, I won't be found... but honestly, this might be my last message. All our comms are down, can't send any distress signals. I'm recording this to hopefully connect to the star-log pro-data box. Someone needs to know what's going on. I think I hear them coming. Oh! Before all this started I heard someone mention KZ-NOVA. I've never heard of that but it might be---

(Video feed cuts but some audio can be heard. It seems to be the faint sound of blaster fire.)
